The potency of a progestogen is evaluated by its ability to change the endometrium (lining of the uterus) from the proliferative phase to the secretory phase (Q 2.13). Progestogens have effects on other organs including the breast and brain. Their relative potency on the endometrium may be different from the effect at the other sites.
