Obstet When When there has been a previous caesarean section the scar in the uterus may be potentially weak. During labour, the uterine contractions may result in the scar opening (rupture) with potential dire risks to the mother and her baby. The risks are further increased when there have been two or more previous caesareans. Most obstetricians advocate elective caesarean section when there have been two previous caesareans.
